Canadian University Application Resources
Here are just some of the valuable resources and pieces of information that will help you understand how Brentwood University Counselling supports you with your Applications to Canadian Universities.
Canadian University Application Accounts & Important Date
Application Deadlines
There are almost no application deadlines that fall before your December holidays for Canadian universities, although we would like to get the bulk of applications submitted by then.
Notable exceptions:
University of Toronto
U of T recommends that applicants submit their OUAC application form by November 7 for Early Consideration. Although their regular application deadlines vary somewhat by program, most fall on January 15.
Queen's University
November 20 if you are selected as the school's Chancellor's Scholarship Nominee or if you plan on applying for another Major Entrance Scholarship.
University of British Columbia
December 1 for Early Admission and Major Scholarship consideration.

ALL Other Canadian Universities Applications
The application systems for other Canadian universities are either:
straightforward enough that we can easily get the applications set up (and even completed) during a regular University Counselling appointment, or
complicated enough that it is inadvisable for you to do any set up of it on your own; we must work through the process carefully with you during an appointment (or probably two).
House of Commons Page Program
Each year, 40 bilingual students graduating from high schools and CEGEPs from across Canada are recruited to participate in the House of Commons Page Program. Pages work directly on the floor of the House of Commons and are responsible for a wide range of tasks related to Chamber activities. This provides them with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of Parliament by playing a role in the rich traditions of the Canadian parliamentary system. The recruitment campaign for the 2025-2026 academic year runs from October 15 to November 10, 2024.
To be selected, candidates must be starting fulltime or part-time post-secondary studies in September 2025 at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Saint Paul University, Université du Québec en Outaouais, Collège La Cité or Algonquin College. Successful candidates will be required to reside in the National Capital Region during their year of employment as a Page. See ourcommons.ca/page to learn more.
So many applications to Canadian universities require your transcript to be sent by the British Columbia Ministry of Education soon after you submit the application form. You must order your transcript to be released by the Ministry to schools of choice.
Steps to Ordering your Ministry Transcript:
You need this to log into the ordering website.
Once you establish your BCeID, submit your login credentials to the University Counselling team using this Form.
Use your BCeID to log into the StudentTranscripts Services website
The first time you use this site, you will need to Activate your account and enter your Personal Education Number (PEN). You can find your PEN on MySchool or listed on any of your old Brentwood report cards.
3. Select the Schools to which you want your transcript sent
Find the destination schools you are looking for... you may need to change the region first.
Take note:
For any Ontario universities, DO NOT select the individual university, rather choose Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC).
For any Ontario colleges, DO NOT select the individual college, rather choose Ontario College Application Service (OCAS).
It defaults to what you need... to send your transcript now and when updates are available, so do not change that.
Be sure to Submit Order and confirm that it has been placed.
