Post-Secondary Planning involves different processes that stretch out over several years at Brentwood, and is very different depending on where students are looking to apply. Here we have outlined the timelines of key components involved in those different processes.
Make any necessary course changes to ensure admission requirements are satisfied

Meet with University Counsellors to review plans for applications
Set up Ministry transcript accounts
UK Applicants to "Ox-bridge" & Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary Medicine: complete Application and Personal Statement by September 15th
Canadian Applicants: Establish university application accounts
UK Applicants to "Ox-bridge" & Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary Medicine: UCAS Application Deadline = October 15th
US Applicants:
Early Decision/Early Applications to be complete by October 1st
take the October SAT, if required
University of California Applications to be complete by October 31st
Continue attending University Visits & Presentations
US Applicants: continue attending "USA Sundays" program; continue Personal and Supplementary Essay writing process
International Students: taking English proficiency tests (TOEFL, IETLS, etc.), as required

Introduction to Course Selection and Planning for Grade 12
Make Grade 12 Courses Selections with Parents based on Post-Secondary Plans.
US Applicants: plan on taking the SAT for the first time.
Have conversations with Advisors and Teachers to ensure that Grade 12 Courses Selections make sense given academic progress and make adjustments to selections as needed.
Meet individually with University Counsellors to review and confirm Grade 12 Course Selections.
US Applicants: continue attending "USA Sundays" to develop campus list and plan for Personal Essay writing.
US Applicants: plan on taking the May SAT.
US Applicants: confirm a preliminary list of US Campuses and make plans to visit over the summer; complete and review first draft of Personal Essay.
UK Applicants to "Ox-bridge": complete and review first draft of Personal Statement and plan for admissions testing.
